Faith That Endures

Practice Faith that Endures.

As I read through the gospels and look at the way Jesus taught his disciples I see that Jesus was continually focused on showing his disciples who he is and how to walk in faith in order to accomplish that which he had called them to do. When we focus our faith each morning on the promises of God, we renew our vision and direction in order to accomplish what God has asked us to do.

Jesus preached to the crowds and then to test the faith of the disciples, Jesus asked them to feed five thousand people. You may be in a situation where you feel like God has asked you to accomplish a huge task of helping people that challenges your faith.

Through the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fish, the disciples were shown the provision given through Jesus to accomplish Gods will.

Right after that event Jesus asked his disciples to get into the boat and go to the other side. In your heart you may want to step out in faith to do what God has asked you to do. It takes faith in Jesus to walk out the plans and purposes of God and to help the people we are assigned to reach.

As the disciples we crossing over to the other side they experienced a storm. The winds and the sea were a huge obstacle for them in reaching the other side where Jesus had told them to go.

In Matthew 8:26 Jesus did not point out a lack of character in the disciples, but what he did was ask them this question: Why are you afraid, O you of little faith ? then Jesus rebuked the winds and the sea.

Jesus not only rebuked unclean spirits and demons but in this case he rebuked the wind and the sea. Today your Faith in Jesus, your focus on Him, your belief in His ability to provide will help you to get past the storms and difficulties that may seem bigger than you.

Pray this prayer. “Jesus, help me to keep focus on you and your ability today. Help me walk by Faith. In you I live and move and have my being.” Amen.
